Before further troubleshooting, ensure your Chromebook is connected to a charger, and the charge light is on (if available on the device). Following the device being on the charger for a period of time, try holding down the power button for approximately 30 seconds.
In some cases, a Chromebook may have an issue preventing it from powering on in some way. One potential way to solve these problems is with the device recovery menu. Here are the instructions on opening this menu with a Chromebook:
-
Press the ESC, Refresh (circle arrow), and power buttons at the same time.
- This should hopefully bring you to a recovery menu.
- From here, press the refresh and power buttons at the same time (no ESC key this time) to reboot the laptop back to normal.
